Fine Fragrance
HRH Arfaq spent over 7 years of his life creating, developing and perfecting his very first perfume. It made its debut
in 2000 as the most expensive perfume in history breaking all records previously set.

Recognised by the GuinnessBook of World Records  eight years on it is still the most  desirable of perfumes.

V1 has an aura of its very own – it is the ultimate symbol of indulgence, of opulence, of truly impeccable taste.
It is the most noble of creations. Over five year’scollaboration with the world’s most
respected perfumers, has culminated in an exceptional fragrance.
 

The Fragrance

First we researched history and the magnificent  cultures
of Classical Antiquity: the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and Babylonians. From these
histories, we found both guidance and inspiration from the noble oils and essences which
were used and the kinds of fragrances which only the Caesars, the General and Pharaohs,
regarded as good enough for themselves. These contained the finest Roses (Rhodium).
Quinces (Melinum), Saffron (Susinum) and Myrhh (Nardinum). A mixture of these oils in
pomade was discovered in Tutankhamen’s Tomb, smelling as fascinatingly good and
mysterious when it was opened as they were 2000 years earlier. From these and other
recipes from Antiquity, we worked with all the mostmodern constituents and

21stCentury technology to create and then refine the most noble and lasting perfume oil which is still possible.

Is a complete symphony of Rose, Jasmine, Neroli,Spice, Amber and precious Wood Notes. It will enchant you, as
much as it would have graced an Egyptian Temple. Itis unforgettable. The Parfum has identity, signature and depth.
The whole Parfum is filled with deep beauty and richness. It is totally distinctive, has excellent tenacity and structure
and above all, is dramatically beautiful, far beyond its exterior presence.
The Formula is a closely kept secret and is has never been written down or documented.

There are only  two individuals in the world who know the precise ingredients, which are in excess of 1,400 with over 35 rose essences.
Sadly, Arthur Burnham who helped develop this fine fragrance, passed away in April 2007,

and HRH Arfaq remains the sole person who holds the Formula.
 

The Jewel

To create a chamber worthy of such an exceptional fragrance requires the touch of a master. A
name respected throughout the world. Ateliers Dinand in the heart of Paris. Pierre Dinand perfume bottles hold the
fragrance creations of the greatest houses. A reputation built on over 35 years in the service of designers of high
fashion.
1kg of pure platinum, 18ct gold and ruby crystal captures the beauty and richness of the fragrance whilst remaining
faithful to one objective: quality beyond fashion. Finished with a 2.6 carat diamond encrusted wreath,it is as precious
as a fine piece of jewellery. Each is entirely handmade and bears the recipients name, an individual number and
hallmarks. Never before has so costly a fragrance been married to so precious a jewel.
 

The Key

To complement the richly inlaid presentation box, the House of Graff
were commissioned by HRH Arfaq to produce a key of such quality and finesse as to be an
item of jewellery in its own right. Hand-made in 18ct gold set with 28 fine white brilliant
cut diamonds to both sides of the V1 symbol. The collar of the shaft is carefully crafted with
10 channel-set rich red Rubies and the whole key isfinished by a loop set with 6 Diamonds
enabling the key to be worn as a pendant or on a bracelet. Only 173 keys will be crafted.
Each will be hallmarked and numbered. The ultimate key to the ultimate fragrance.
 

The Case

Traditional skills of woodworking and leather trimming have been brought together to create the
perfect presentation case for the Jewel. The case is made from the recipient’s personal choice of decorative veneers:
from burr elm, burr walnut, burr maple or burr yew,enhanced by cross banding and the art of marquetry. Gold leaf
is then carefully applied to specific areas and theexterior is hand lacquered and polished to a superlative finish. S. C.
Gordon Ltd., Rolls-Royce and Bentley authorised coachbuilders, were commissioned by HRH Arfaq to make  the
case. The interior of the case houses the Jewel, cosseted in the finest Connolly hide. The perfect fitthat can only come
from the 30 hours of craftsmanship which each case commands. As with the veneers, the recipient is offered a choice
